LAXMMI BOMB TRAILER LOOKS PROMISING

Laxmmi Bomb is slated to release on November 9 this year. From the trailer, it looks like a perfect Diwali treat for viewers. Horror-comedy is a genre that has been explored by Bollywood before but Laxmmi Bomb will also touch on some important issues like transphobia.

The film is a remake of Tamil film Kanchana. Kanchana is the story of a man named Ragahva who gets possessed by the spirits of three ghosts - a transgender woman, a Muslim man and an intellectually challenged kid.

The film released in 2011 and was the perfect 'masala' entertainer for audience back then. Raghava Lawrence helmed the original as well.

AKSHAY KUMAR AND KIARA ADVANI'S SECOND FILM

Laxmmi Bomb brings Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani together for the second time after Good Newwz. The film paired Akshay opposite Kareena Kapoor while Kiara was paired opposite Diljit Dosanjh.

WHEN AKSHAY KUMAR SAID LAXMMI BOMB TAUGHT HIM TO BE MORE UNDERSTANDING

Akshay Kumar had earlier talked about his role in Laxmmi Bomb in a virtual press conference by Disney+Hotstar.

He had said, "(My role was) mentally intensive, kinda tough and the one I have never experienced before.

The credit goes to the director of the film, Raghava Lawrence. He introduced me to a version of myself even I didn't know existed.

This character is unlike any other character I have played. I wanted to portray the character with full honesty, without offending any community which is why I took several retakes while shooting.

Even after doing 150 films, I was excited to be on set, pushing boundaries and learning more about myself.

This film taught me to be more understanding about gender equality. Be anything you want to be but just don't be ignorant. Kindness is the key."

The film will be releasing on the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar on November 9. So aren’t you guys excited to watch this film?
