Why Google Pixel Failed to Crack Indian Market?

Google's Pixel phones are not that good. Pixel fans love their phones. But still, Google Pixel is not doing well in India. We know where to get Google Pixel. In Flipkart. Google Pixel phones from Flipkart but not from Amazon. Just look at Google Pixel, it's unique. If Google is taking this phone offline and taking the back design panel, then definitely there will be many people who will pay attention to it and will be attracted.

Because when I use Pixel phone outside the house, then often people ask me what type of phone is it? Because it looks more unique than all the other phones in the market. Do you know what is the benefit of making Pixel available offline? That the people here can touch and feel it.

It is possible that people may not buy it even after putting it offline. But once they experience it, see the camera, see the design, then they will at least know that Google also makes a phone with the brand of Pixel. Because the majority of the people still do not know that Google's own phones are also in the market.

But with this, there is one more very important thing that every Pixel user has suffered from in India and that is the after sale service. A few months ago, there was only one service center in India, B2X. But in the last few months, they have partnered with F1 solution and opened 20 service centers in India.

See, 1 to 20 is a good number. But I would like to tell you that 20 service centers are also very less in India. India is such a big country that no one is covering it in every state. And in today's time, people demand that they also need a good experience of after sale service along with a mobile phone.

Whether it is any company's phone, whether it is Apple, Google or Samsung. And after this, I would like to talk about the strange pricing of Pixel. Although we know that Pixel is placed a little expensive here. Now let's see, the example of Pixel 7a is placed in 44,000 which matches the price of Pixel 6a of last year. But we know what happened with Pixel 6a. Its pricing did not decrease very quickly after launch.

It means that it was launched at 44,000 and then it started to decrease to 37,000, 38,000. Then it dropped to 30,000 and then its price dropped below 30,000. If you see a company's phone at such a big price drop in less than a year, then it affects the resale value and brand value in the market.

This is something that Google has to fix its pricing strategy. But have you ever thought why is Google's pricing like this? Because this phone is made in Vietnam and not made in India. But why is Google doing this? I mean, in the market, they talk about made in India iPhone. And here the reports are coming that Tata will make iPhone 15 in India. But

Why doesn't Google make a phone in India?

See, basically, Google designs its phone outside, makes it in a factory in Vietnam and distributes it all over the world. If they start making their phone in India, then its impact will be that the price of the phone will drop very quickly. And the components of the phone will be easily available here. It can be easily repaired.

And some time ago, some reports came out that Google is trying to start its own manufacturing in India. If Google starts here as soon as possible, it will be a good thing. And its impact will be on its pricing.

Do you know why Google gives discounts on its phones at this time?

It gives it only because it has to clear the stock. Because Pixel 6 was an expensive phone, so it was not sold. And it was sold at a low price, so they thought of making it a cheap phone.

But have you ever thought why Google is doing this?

Basically, let me tell you what is the scene in Google's India. See, I talked to the Google team once and they said that Pixel has a very low priority in India for Google. And even in India, Pixel is only available in the marketing team. In India, there is no reception development or anything of Pixel. Whereas Google fulfills its bigger priorities in India. Meaning, 82% of Google's revenue is with advertising. Code things are done, all those things are developed in India.

But definitely, Pixel is so low priority for Google that its R&D is still in the US. But do you know why is this happening with the Pixel lineup? Because if you think why did Google start its Pixel here? Because Google had to create its own individual identity.

Before Pixel, you used to see Nexus, in which Google used to partner with another company to launch its phone. Which had Samsung, LG, HTC, Huawei, Motorola. Hardware will be made by someone else, Google will give its software. But then in 2016, it seems that why don't we make everything ourselves and present our own individual identity.

Meaning, launch a product in the market that is completely their own. And compete with their biggest competitor, Apple's iPhone in the market. This was the thought that Google had in Pixel. This was the thought from Pixel 1 to Pixel 5. But after Pixel 6, the story changed. Because from Pixel 6, Google saw that Google's device was not selling in the market. So they thought, let's take everything inside and work again and do some experiments. And from then on, Pixel lineup was an experiment for Google.

Meaning, you will see, experiments are done in its design, Google's Tensor chip is brought here. And with every version, Google tries to do some new experiment. Like every experiment, some things go well, some things go bad. And these same things happened with Google.

And its first positive impact was that Google's hardware sales were very good for the first time. Meaning, the percentage was very low, but at least it was a positive thing. So that was a good thing for Google. The biggest benefit was that as LG took exit from the market, LG's market became empty in the US.

And Pixel took over it. This was a good thing. People saw new designs in the market, camera sensors improved, Google improved its AI. And people saw some new things here. But after this, one thing was missing. One thing was missing, like in the beginning, they were making Pixel, so they wanted to bring their own processor.

But here they brought Tensor. And as soon as Tensor came, it was a rebranded Exynos. And it had problems like heating and many other things. Because definitely, Google and Samsung were working together. But here Google knows that they can't bring their own processor.

It takes a lot of time to design a processor. I have heard that in Tensor G3, they will design their own processor. Samsung will fabricate it. And in Tensor's generation 4, which will be Pixel next year, they are talking about making their own processor, but will they make it on TSMC or Samsung? This is one thing. What I mean to say is that Google is improving some things with every generation. They are learning some things and delivering better products in the market.

And Google thought of bringing Pixel Fold. Because it is an experimental device, they are not bringing it to India. They will see how things will evolve, it will work. And after that, when the product will be refined, they will jump. That means Google's strategy is quite good here. But we have to keep some things in mind about Google.

Like, keep the partners of Google in the market, like Samsung, happy. And don't compete with their products. But still, Pixel has seen positive growth in India. At least, Pixel phones are coming here timely. But if Google fixes some things for India in the coming time, it will be a better thing to see here. I would like to tell you that Pixel 7 testing is going on. And every phone has some good and bad things.

So, we will get the video of it very soon. By the way, how do you like Google's Pixel phone? Tell me in the comments below.

Thank you...
